VTR was founded in 2016 by Jörn Trierweiler and was created as a result of the successful restructuring of an international construction materials group headquartered in Austria. As a successful restructuring and turnaround expert, he often had to realize that many service providers in this business environment either did not operate independently of financing partners and other stakeholders, or, as classic consultants, they did not contribute to the long-term business success of their clients. They lacked the independent free entrepreneurial thinking that is essential for navigating a business through fundamental change processes.
In the meantime, VTR consists of a highly professional team of internationally experienced partners, consultants and restructuring experts. They operate in part in groundbreaking and complex special situations and focus on:
- operational restructuring and turnaround of companies in special situations;
- preparation and, in particular, implementation of sustainable restructuring concepts, mainly in executive positions as CRO, (interim) CFO or CxO;
- providing leadership in complex, cross-border transformation processes and value-enhancement programs, e.g. as a so-called Chief Transformation Officer (CTO).
Target companies and clients of VTR are predominantly industrial groups and their subsidiaries, private equity and similar funds or their portfolio companies, owner-managed corporates as well as banks and comparable external financiers.
VTR’s professionals generally operate all over Europe. However, the geographic focus is on the DACH region. The company headquarters are in Salzburg, Austria.
